Police believe they found the body Wednesday of a 2-year-old boy missing from the Bronx since last month — and his father has been taken into custody, sources reported.
Cops made the grim discovery near the Whitestone Bridge at about 12:30 p.m. on June 11. The NYPD Harbor Unit pulled the remains of a small child from the waters of the East River beneath the Whitestone Bridge.
While police report that the body still needs to be positively identified, they say the remains match the physical description of Montrell Williams, who vanished on May 9 from his home in the Bronx.

The NYPD has been probing Williams’ disappearance and began zeroing in on the child’s father, whom they said had been acting suspicious.
During the investigation, police sources said, detectives obtained footage of the unnamed father throwing a black bag into a spot on the Bronx River near the Bruckner Expressway on May 10.
Police have since taken the child’s father into custody, though criminal charges have yet to be filed pending the ongoing investigation.
