A man died of his injuries after he was struck by an MTA bus in Manhattan on Monday morning.
According to the NYPD, at 5:33 a.m. on June 16, police responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of East 28th Street and 3rd Avenue in Gramercy.
Upon their arrival, officers learned that an MTA bus, operated by a 41-year-old man, had struck an unidentified man.
Police say that the bus struck the victim while headed northbound on 3rd Avenue as the victim, a pedestrian, was crossing east to west on East 28th Street.
Officers from the 13th Precinct responded to the scene. Paramedics took the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.
The bus driver remained at the scene following the incident.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
